Meet our Research Programs: India-Asia collision zone
A team of 16 Geosciences faculty and students (graduate and undergraduate) are investigating what happens to the Earth's interior, surface, and climate as oceans disappear and mountains rise between colliding landmasses.
Their laboratory is the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau, the most impressive topographic features on Earth and where ~3000 km of convergence has been accommodated since initial collision between India and Asia.
